Two and a half hours from Manila is Anilao in Mabini, Batangas. Very popular among divers and snorkelers, it is teeming with colorful fish, corals and marine plants. The water is clear and visibility is good making the place a favorite among photographers. Novices and world-class divers are attracted to Anilao because diving conditions are ideal for both beginners and experienced divers. Anilao is primarily a dive spot and the beaches are rocky — and I mean really rocky. I don’t dive but some of my cousins do and the underwater photos in this gallery were provided by my cousin-in-law, Luigi Abad Santos. All photos were taken in Anilao in 2006.
